THE BATTLE IS GOD'S

1 Samuel 17:45-47

English Standard Version

45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand.”

What’s in your hand? Is there an enemy you are throwing at? David was just a boy when he went to battle so you can’t say you are to young. He had only a few things so you can’t say you don’t have anything. So what is our excuse to not stay and win this battle. David said the battle is God’s not ours. Your enemies today are only as big as you let them. E.M. Bounds said “no man does much for God who does not rise above the age of in which he lives”. We can’t look at what we have or how old we are or what is going on around us. We can only look to God for all the answers. It is for me to believe then God can win the battle. It only takes one person to believe that they can kill a giant to make other giant killers. We have got to overcome the enemy in our minds that tell us we can’t when we can.

We win with Christ. Go today and win.
