Ruth 1:16-17
New International Version
16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”
What are we investing in? God puts money in our pockets and what we do with it, is up to us. If we do not invest in the way we need to, when the drought comes and we need what we have invested, what resources really show up? Naomi had invested in her two daughters-in-law, so much that they would give up everything and go with her. Ruth said "may nothing but death separate us". But Naomi turned from pleasant to bitter. There were three people standing at a crossroads they had to make a lifetime decision. Our decision sometimes last a lifetime. What you decide today to do for God will last for you a lifetime. Pray that God help you to make the decision that last for eternity. Not only for you but for others.
