1 Corinthians 14:7-8
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
New International Version
Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the pipe or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?
What kind of sound are we making? Here Paul is talking about musical instruments. But in life it’s about us. If you play the wrong instrument in your battle cry will we confuse the people God has sent to help? When men went out to battle they knew what instrument was going to be played. We have to be in tune with God that when we have a battle cry God will hear and come running. That means we have to stay in tune to God. We need to read and pray to understand how to be prepared for the battle. If satan can confuse us ,he will, that is his job. We need to be in harmony with all the other instruments so when ours is played it’s a sweet sound to Jesus.
