Matthew 5:10-12
New International Version
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
How righteous are we? If you go by what I think I am in trouble. Because in my book I am never good for anything. But by the blood of Jesus I am righteous. You see I will never be good enough in my eyes but it is because of Him you and I are righteous. Why is it that the world wants to punish the people that will stand there and help them in all kinds of trouble? Because of sin in their own lives. They don’t want to feel convicted and they lash out at us because they are convicted of their sins. But there is no where in the word of God that says we will have everything easy. It just says He will be with us when we go through it.
