great faith

Ruth 1:16-17

New International Version

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”

This is one of the most famous verses in the Bible. It is quoted all the time. But we need to put it into our lives today. When was the the last time you made a declaration of your faith? This is just what Ruth did here and most people never see it that way. She declared her faith in the God of Naomi. We need now, more than ever, to stand for what we believe and teach our children how to believe. When we are young we make the greatest decision for our lives. So if we as parents do not teach them to have a great faith they will not know how to make great decisions. Ruth was never taught until she was married, so I think it says a lot about Naomi. What will your family say about you? Will it be your great faith or how much money or things you had. I would rather invest in people than in the things of this world that I can’t take with me.
