The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

When was the last time you were so broken that you didn’t think you could ever get back up? When sadness and depression settles into one’s mind, heart, and soul, it is not easy to shake the feelings off, break out of the rut, and move on as some may suggest or think. At times, inner despair remains, regardless of the goodwill offered from those that care. If this sounds like you, realize you are not alone. Many others have battled or are currently battling with valleys of darkness. There are numerous men and women of the Bible that struggled with sadness? Yes, God-trusting people experienced depressed feelings, emotional grief, and times of despair. Different ones wanted to run or give up. So don’t think you are in the boat alone. Remember Jesus is with you and He feels what we feel. Just remember God said He was close to the brokenhearted.
