Ephesians 5:22-24

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything”.

Alright couldn’t help but hit this subject today as I am working on a lesson on the family so here we go. You know I am always saying he might be the head but I am the neck and I turn that head. But Pastor knows he is the head and he listens to God. So I can respect that. The word “submission” from the Greek “hypotasso” means to place

or arrange under. Often used as a military term meaning to place oneself under the command of a leader. It was presented as something that’s a voluntary attitude of cooperating with and putting trust in an authority figure. Submission is not something that a husband can demand from a wife. The moment you have to tell your wife to submit to you, you are wrong. It is Christ who commands that submission. It is to be given voluntarily by the wife. This works the same as the Trinity does. They are three but yet one. God gives a chain of command and without the head the body dies. There is no where in the Bible that a man is supposed to be curel or hit part of the body. When anyone does he hits himself. Because you are one in Christ. Just remember to keep God in the center and then your life and marriage will blossom. Marriage is not easy it is what we make out of it.
