bearing fruit

Luke 8:14-15

New International Version

The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

When was the last time you were not worried about something? I don’t think there is a day that goes by without some kind of worry. But beware that our worries and pleasures don’t become the thorns that choke out the word of God in us. We have it there we just don’t want to lose it. The good seed is noble and has a good heart. That is what God wants in us a good heart. So we can bear the fruit that God wants in us. And I know it can get hard when someone tries to pick your fruit. But we have to learn to let them pick it so we can have room to grow more. A tree is only as good as the way it was pruned. Let’s grow a big tree for God’s glory.
