1 John 4:7-9
New International Version
7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
What is really love? It’s easy to say we love someone or something but do we? Dictionary defines love as, "The act of caring and giving to someone else. Having someone's best interest and wellbeing as a priority in your life. To truly love is a very selfless act. God loved because He sent His only son to die for my sins. What am I willing to give up for someone I say I love? It’s easy to go out of the way when you love someone but is it easy to go out of the way for that person who has done me wrong? God gave for all who didn’t deserve life after death. We deserve more than we will ever get but God, He gave for the worst of us. He has a love that is so selfless. Oh to love so selfless. Today is my anniversary so I couldn’t help think of love. As much as I love my husband I don’t have all the love God has for me and you because He gave up everything for us. What are we willing to give up just to see one person come to know God? Our rights, our thoughts, our ways or our wants. Just remember the people who hurt you the most are hurting themselves more.
