Whirlwind

You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not.”

11 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.

2Kings 2:10-11

In theses verses you have two if's if you see me and if you don't. The choice is up to you. How much do we want from God and how close do you want to walk to get it. The chariot and horses of fire symbolized God’s powerful heavenly army. This display of the instruments of spiritual warfare separated the two prophets and apparently could have frightened Elisha into running away and losing his desired blessing. The whirlwind (shekinah?) took Elijah miraculously into heaven. This is the same vision of God's throne as seen in Daniel's vision. Get so close to God that you get into that Shekinah whirlwind of God today. We can ask difficult things from God.
