He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”

Luke 19:3-5

How many storms did that tree go through before Jesus passed by? How many times did someone pull a leaf off of it or a twig or was it cut on stomped on or carved into? You see because it was there to have an encounter with Jesus for one man. How many times did it want to give in and quit growing or just give up? It had to grow so someone else could see Jesus are we growing so they may have an encounter with Jesus?
