narrow road

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from your majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, your majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

Daniel 3:16-18

What do you do when we are tempted to get ourselves out of the trial or in their case out of the fire? One of the biggest thing that stands out is they first said they didn’t need to defend themselves. When I am about to go in the fire I want to defend myself. But they were not going to give up. They stood on what they believed and what they knew in their hearts. God wants us to believe in Him that He is in control and He will take care of us. They had to come to the place to say that even if He didn’t take care of it that they were not going to serve any other god. That means not giving into the temptation of getting out the easy way. The road to heaven is narrow. In this walk stay on the straight path it will lead to heaven.
