Luke 2:8-10 NIV
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
What news are we bringing? You see God knows how to make a lowly shepherd a King. You see a shepherd was on the low end of society. But God chose the shepherds to be the first to hear about the birth of Jesus. God doesn’t look at what you have or what you can or can’t do, He looks at the heart. He comes to the lowest points in our lives to pick us up. Because He loves you so much. He had His only child born in a barn just so you and I could see how much He loves us. Take the word with you today to someone who might be down and encourage them in Jesus. You can be like the angels telling the world about Jesus.
