But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. 51 So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
My question today is how easily are we influenced? It is ashamed that we can be easily influenced by people, things and social media. If we were not, then why do we see all the companies spending so much money on commercials. It’s because we spend on what we see with our eyes. The eyes are the gate way to the soul. Be careful how or who influences you. Paul gave this town a warning by shaking the dust off. Jesus in Matthew taught them when they wouldn’t hear to shake the very dust off so that they would take nothing with them from there even the dust. But I look at this that even in the persecution they were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. That should give us comfort to know when we go through things that we can still be filled with joy and the Spirit of God.
