1 Peter 5:6-8

English Standard Version

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

How many of us really are humble? I want to think I am until someone rubs me the wrong way. Then I am not so humble. I look at the words here and think humble and exalt. If I humble He will exalt. Big two letter word “if” you see it’s up to us what we choose to do. Anxiety and Jesus cares. If I have worries then Jesus will carry them if I give them to Him. And if I am not watchful, Satan can get me. Peter understands that suffering tends to move us in one of two directions. In humble faith, we lean into God, allowing him to strengthen us, sustain us, comfort and heal us. Or, in self-sufficiency and doubt, we turn away from God, becoming bitter and angry. And that is the goal of the enemy, that you and I are wiped up. Please don’t let whatever is going on in your life today wipe you up. Remember who really cares for you and give it to Him the one who can carry it today.

May Jesus be with you today and always. We need CPR today Christ, Prayer and Repentance.
